Grunion Run?

I know its closed season right now but I enjoy taking people to watch the grunion run. I don't catch them, only observe because its illegal during the closed season and they taste horrible in my opinion. I went last night and last month and I didn't see them. Has anybody seen them this year?

I tried last month and they didn't show around newport/huntington beach. My friend reported they showed up in Long Beach the run before this one. It was a big run too.

Try the Los Al jetty on the beach side. You can walk out on the rocks and look at the surf to watch the grunion come in. WATCH OUT for large rogue waves coming in at high tide.

Thanks, yeah I checked Seal Beach & Long Beach. I'll try that jetty spot next.
