Saw two trucks visit June Lake yesterday (4/22): DFG Fish Springs with over 800 lbs of .5-3 pounders PLUS the Alpers truck dropped over 121 lbs of 5+ pounders! New docks in at the June Lake Marina, no ice on any of the Loop lakes, no snow in the Village. Weather forecast for Opener is sunny with 70-72/highs and 37-39/lows.

Remembering 30 years of openers ... boat #2 was a winner

Everything from swamped boats ... drownings ... half frozen lake ... rod tips constantly freezing ... slow days ... wfo days ... freezing with 20 mph wind to balmy like this Sat.

I remember 4 am at the beach

I remember when Micki and John (with family) first came up ... probably bought one of the last sandwiches they cooked up at the landing ... yep they used to cook and sell food. Now john probably owns half of the mountain ???

Always first class service ... first class boats ... high class folks!

Lots of "old timers" out there who remember John and Micki Frederickson (June Lake Marina and also Crowley Fish Camp). You will still find both of them down here daily, doing what they love in the place they still adore.

The Eastern Sierras were just alotted an additional $20,000 for stocking prior to opening weekend. All the lakes are getting a nice 2nd helping which is great for those of us going up a couple weeks after the opener.
"With so much open water available to anglers this spring, the Mono County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved an additional early-season stocking investment of $20,000," Mono County stated in a press release.

would like to go, but they just put 9000 lbs of tailwalkers in Palmdale resv. with 10% being 6-15lbs. 4500 fish. Gonna be a slay fest this weekend. I just go to the Sierras to get away from the heat here. probably be there in june for some hiking to the back country.

I especially like the 10th St W & Palmdale Blvd area. The hos, crackheads, meth monkeys, and dope dealers make it extra photogenic.

Dear Fish Finder: Hope you had a good time fishing in Palmdale. Although I was skunked Opening morning on one troll around June Lake, this is what I had to put up with:
