Started out trolling flat lines this morning in the Observ. area and got 3 little ones 10 inchers right away [ released]and then the wind started to come in but not as bad as saturday . I tried everything up on top and then started using lead line around noon . Alot of fish being metered but my guess alot of fish are still in the spawn mode as yesterday I cleaned a big trout and it was full of eggs . I scratched out a limit today but it took 6 hrs. and lost 4-5 as I was to slow to get my rod out of the holder , ha . Released a little crappie and had a hook up that made my day until I fought this thing for a while staying deep and finally bringing up a nice size carp hook on its back dorsal fin . The two spots that worked today was straight out near the white bouy in the middle of lk. out in front of the Observ. and the area favoring the north shore and between the Observ. and Eagle point . 1 fish today on a firetiger rapala and all others on a gold thomas bouyant lure [ 1/6oz]. I havent been anywhere near the west end yet but the fish are there no doubt , my feeling is a little colder water there now and the east east is 52 deg. with everything blowing in towards the east end , warmer surface temps. and maybe even food , alot of little bugs hanging on my boat . At about the first of may I kick up my speed a little and start using worms and start fishing the west end . // db http://i599.photobucket.com/albums/tt74/db_bucket_photos/4-14bigbeartrout001_zps51c74c6a.jpg[/URL[url]http://i599.photobucket.com/albums/tt74/db_bucket_photos/4-14bigbeartrout002 (http://s599.photobucket.com/user/db_bucket_photos/media/4-14bigbeartrout001_zps51c74c6a.jpg.html)http://i599.photobucket.com/albums/tt74/db_bucket_photos/4-14bigbeartrout005_zps79cb2c7c.jpg (http://s599.photobucket.com/user/db_bucket_photos/media/4-14bigbeartrout005_zps79cb2c7c.jpg.html)_zps20ff8cb d.jpghttp://i599.photobucket.com/albums/tt74/db_bucket_photos/4-14bigbeartrout006_zps33f7e9db.jpg (http://s599.photobucket.com/user/db_bucket_photos/media/4-14bigbeartrout006_zps33f7e9db.jpg.html)http://i599.photobucket.com/albums/tt74/db_bucket_photos/4-14bigbeartrout007_zps87d9c8fa.jpg (http://s599.photobucket.com/user/db_bucket_photos/media/4-14bigbeartrout007_zps87d9c8fa.jpg.html)

Wow what a nice clear day you had up there. Funny, the red/gold TB was the hot lure for me today as well at Irvine, under dark clouds. Too bad more carp don't get eradicated from the lake that way, that must have been a hell of a fight bringing that in.

I even tried using the silver TB but its the color of the water Iam quessing or maybe the gold looks like a baby carp ? I got sunburned up there yesterday and halfway down the mnt. coming home the temp. dropped 14 deg. in a matter of minutes . Kinda neat it look like a thick white carpet covering the valley below . A guy anchored up using gold powerbait near the Observ. were doing good . Heres a couple of more pics from yesterday that wouldnt load up for whatever reason . The troll is going to really break loose in about 2 weeks I bet . http://i599.photobucket.com/albums/tt74/db_bucket_photos/4-14bigbeartrout002_zps20ff8cbd.jpg (http://s599.photobucket.com/user/db_bucket_photos/media/4-14bigbeartrout002_zps20ff8cbd.jpg.html)http://i599.photobucket.com/albums/tt74/db_bucket_photos/4-14bigbeartrout003_zps4138d1d3.jpg (http://s599.photobucket.com/user/db_bucket_photos/media/4-14bigbeartrout003_zps4138d1d3.jpg.html)
