go with the 1000, it will be way more balanced and comfortable to fish. If you want to use it for different species, just back it with 8 lb. braid and tie on leaders from 2-8 pound test

I was thinking about putting some 6lb flouro on to throw weightless senkos on

That would work perfectly, with the 2500 it would be off-balanced. Plus i don't think you need a bunch of line capacity for throwing senkos. The only real difference is the extra 4 inches per crank you get from the 2500 (34 inches vs. 30 inches)

Def go with the 1000 series and u will be able to put on plenty of 6 lb line and plenty of drag! Putting a 2500 on an UL wouldn't be a great pairing!

No sir I have not. But I fish a cI4 on a regular basis that is loaded with 5 lb. powerpro and lb mono all the time

How long of a mono leader do you use?

For the application, i say go 1000. Howver, the 2500 can use the 3000 spool so of you buy a spare 3000 spool, its like having 2 reels for 1. The fjs are smooth as butter. Very similar to the ci4.

Anywhere from 3 feet to 9 yards, depends if Im fishing one technique and not retying, or if ill be fishing dropshot also. Always bring your leader material with you on the trip, just in case. Cuz it sucks to run out of leader and be forced to be done for the day.

Thanks for all the info guys. So do you guys think i should just go with straight 6lb flouro or use a braid/leader combo and if braid/leader what brands and lb test thanks. I like the 8lb pp braid suggestion

Its definitely a personal preference. I tried the braid to flouro and didn't like it cause it wasn't as sensitive when the line is slack. If feel I missed many bites. The all flouro for me is way more sensitive than the braid was for me.

If u are concerned about the money u can use electrical tape and tape ur spool close to half way and then use approx 80 to 100 lbs of flouro. That's more than enough for freshwater bass and u will always be able to fill a 2500 spool twice with a 200 yr flouro spool.
