Hey guy's thinking of giving my aluminum boat the touch, Krylon touch is that a good or bad idea? Is there any tips or idea's for an inexpensive paint job?

Paint sticking to aluminum is always a problem.

If it has old paint on it it will stick.

Pressure washed is optimum.

Look into a self etching primer if bare aluminum.

No matter what you do it will most likely flake off.

Just accept that fact and you should be ok

Thanks cutbait how long do you think the paint would stay on before the flaking starts? And as far as how good it would come out i'm not to worried about it because its not in good shape rite now lol.

It would look good for a season. Then each year there after progressively worse.

1 paint doesn't stick to aluminum well

2 boats flex making the paint flakes even more

Having said all that, if its a beater boat, I would paint it.

Pressure wash it will really help. If you can do it upside down even better. Get the crud out.

Have you seen my boat restore thread in this section?

I painted my boat over factory paint. I used a high quality paint to do it. I expect it to stay because of the factory paint as a primer so to speak
