Hey FNN,

What a great day! I am still exhausted today, but I wanted to put up a thread to thank everyone who participated, organized, and donated to the tournament. We were able to raise over $9,300 dollars for Project Healing Waters which is a record breaking fund raiser for the Southern California Project Healing Waters Team! For anyone who couldn't make it to the tournament, but would still like to donate to this very worthy cause, please visit www.projecthealingwaters.org

A huge thanks to all the fishermen and women who showed up yesterday to compete in the Healing and Reeling Trout tournament. We had a field of 180 anglers signed up for the tournament, and it was clear by around 8:00 AM that you would need a big fish to place in the top 4 for the day.

First to the scales in the morning was this Father and Son duo, who had caught a beautiful 15LB 10 OZ rainbow from near the Bubblehole. Tobias Wildman Would go on to take first in our big fish competition. Here he is pictured with his son holding the winning Super Trout.

Second place was taken by Jim Anderson with a beautiful 14lb 15 OZ Super Trout taken from near Toad Road. Here is Jim pictured with his impressive catch smiling ear to ear. Jim also cleaned up in the Raffle later on in the afternoon.

The third place honor was taken by Jay Lamari with 13LB 12 OZ Super Trout taken from an undiclosed location on the lake. Here is Lucky Jay Lamari pictured with his winning fish.

After the last call for weigh in we started the raffle, and what a raffle it was! The raffle went on for 2 hours, you heard right, 2 hours! Each and every prize that was given away in the raffle was a minimum value of $50 dollars. With most exceeding $100, and many worth well over $200. I want to thank all of the great companies that sponsored the event. There were a ton of great quality high dollar value prizes given away yesterday, and a bunch of people left the lake really happy! Check out a few of the winners here, and see all of the pictures on the fishinglakes.com facebook page.

As you can tell, there was no shortage of quality prizes in the raffle and silent auction. Another huge thank you to all the awesome sponsors who helped make this day a real success.

I want to give special recognition to Craig Elliott, and the fishinglakes team. Without their help, dedication and hard work, this event would have never happened. Craig worked tirelessly with me over the past two months to enlist sponsors, put together the event fliers and publicity and anything and everything that was needed in order to make the tournament a sucess. Craig and his crew provided the venue an awesome stocking of huge Super Trout and the contacts and dedication it took to get this all put together. Nothing that I can type or say could ever express my gratitude for Craigs generosity and hospitality, you really are a class act Craig!

Thanks again to the fishing men and women that came out to help us make this such a huge win for Project Healing Waters! That 9,300+ that we raised yesterday is going to help rehabilite and educate Veterans over the next year, and without your participation, it would not have been possible.

Thanks to all of the current and past men and women of our Armed Forces! Your efforts help keep us free to enjoy recreational activites like fishing, and for your service I am eternally grateful!
