Hi Everyone,

This is a topic that does not seem to be really discussed here in the pyramid forum so I think everyone would appreciated other fellow fishermen's input.

What is your preferred weather website for pyramid lake and more importantly what city, region, zip code do you search for pyramid? (if you can copy and past a link that would really help)

Also a very important aspect is, what wind speed forecast means that pyramid is a no go.

Pyramid is kinda unique, I believe it's under the Lebec, CA when trying to find weather. But for me, I kinda lean towards the Castaic weather prediction for Pyramid. I also check the live weather from Lake Castaic's web page. My main focus on weather is if it's too windy at Castaic, I go to pyramid, cuz the launch ramp at Castaic gets hammered by waves/wind. While Pyramid's launch ramp is protected by the mountain range.

This proved to be accurate yesterday. They called for diminishing winds yesterday afternoon... And it proved correct.. NOAA is the way to go..

"what wind speed forecast means that pyramid is a no go." Would depend on your boat and comfort level handing said boat in wind IE-- will by anchor hold? ....That being said if its gusting 30 why would you want to fish that anyways?

You need to read the discussion portion of the National Weather service forecast and also the "zone" forecast. If you just read the blip for the day you won't get any trends that may occur during that day, wind being one of our biggest concerns as fisherman I think.

If you want 100% weather reporting get yourself a weather stone. Go out a get a good sized rock, tie a rope around it and hang it from a tripod.
Then follow the instructions:

Some examples of the instructions for the weather stone include:
If the rock is wet, it's raining.
If the rock is swinging, the wind is blowing.
If the rock casts a shadow, the sun is shining.
If the rock does not cast a shadow and is not wet, the sky is cloudy.
If the rock is not visible, it is foggy.
If the rock is white, it is snowing.
If the rock is coated with ice, there is a frost.
If the ice is thick, it's a heavy frost.
If the rock is bouncing, there is an earthquake.
If the rock is under water, there is a flood.
If the rock is warm, it is sunny.
If the rock is missing, there was a tornado.
If the rock is wet and swinging violently, there is a hurricane.

Ya don't need no stinkin' weather forecast just look at your rock. :Envious:

For MONDAY...!!!!! "A 30 percent chance of showers before 11am. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 50. Very windy, with a north northwest wind 50 to 55 mph, with gusts as high as 80 mph."
