AV duct short session

After work late last night, I had some spare time about 1 hours so I decided to go the west for the short session. selected 2 spots in mind here I go.

1st spot, fish bite on the 1 cast. Reel her in on near the cement edge, she shooked up....loose.....my bad....stayed th ere for 5 minutes no morr bite then I moved to the second spot. Cast out kpn lure, it hit the water, I let it shrunk for a few second put my thumb the spool...... fish bite on the fall. I set the hooked and land her on the cement edge. She weight 5.16 lbs. Packed up and went home about 1:00am

continues the last night still for the short session. caught a dink 13 inches at the 1st spot. another dink 17 inches on the second spot. Maybe I needed to go further east looking for the big units but I was so tired from work.

lol...it was my son. He threw it away I like it so kept it...all my friends laught when I carry it to fish...haha

Those are giant compared to the 11 incher I pulled out on Wed. On a side note, does anyone think that 20lb flouro leader is too heavy and may be hurting my results? I have used it back east in brackish with no probs but the water was more stained than in the duct.

I used 12 # pline mono AM, and 40 # PM.

picked up LC yesterday afternoon and wanted to try out see how it works. got to the duct this morning for a short session 2 hours. 2nd spot I got a bite. fished at open area.
