Way to work those spawning fish. I hope you didn't release those after handling them like that,,,,ouch

Next time keep the males and release the hens!!

Nice Fish, Dr Trout! I got skunked on the fly tubing by the observatory Saturday. Tried a variety of flies and depths and nothing was biting -Of course it was probably more my not-slow-enough technique ;) I did pickup a nice LMB on a dead-sticked, wacky-rigged senko, but the bass bite was also pretty slow.

I was going to tube the west-end on Sunday but I had too much work to do.

Cheers and great pix!!!

Nice. I was up there 4 wheeling all weekend. Stopped by the dam and stuck a thick fish for each of our group. Pretty tasty cooked over the fire. Also shot a carp.

I usually never take fish out of the water I was on top of a rock so I had to pick up the fish for the pic. I cnr 99 percent of the time those fish were strong the one that was bleeding my friend cooked it that night ... Plus I always wet my hands before I pick up fish .... I agree wt you on this one

I was up at Big Bear all weekend also, we pulled a big fat smelly :Skunk:! My buddy and I threw everything we had at them. Different lures, baits, depths. Nothing. The only love that was given was to people fly fishing it seems, there was a guy in Boulder Bay I was chatting with that was killing it with flies. After seeing what I saw yesterday, I seriously want to learn to fly fish. Skyler, I was fishing the north side of the dam from 7-10am from the rocks and there were several guys fly fishing next to me. You may have been one of them judging by your pics. Way to go!

That's a beautiful fish with a great looking tail! Excellent!

BBL is a great place to fly fish, the fish holdover very well and therefore develop a taste for something other than colored puddy. I can be out there in a tube tugging a streamer in between pontoon boats and killing them when the toons are doing nothing but puddy fishing and landing very few.

Love that lake best quality rainbows south of Crowley!

Can't beat the bows at the Bear!!! Like Seal said, best quality fish south of Crowley!!! I believe they are the same Eagle strain and because they are stocked as sub catchables in large numbers they hold over extremely well. You add a little natural reproduction and you've got a great fishery!!!

No, it was just me and a buddy quietly fishing on the north side. Are you talking about the group of guys on the south side of the dam having a tailgate party at 7am and yelling across the canyon and whistling all morning? Yeah, we weren't very happy with them either...:Head Bang:
