I'll put money on it that they are feasting on the floating debris from Japans tsunami. That left massive amounts of trash floating across the Pacific...

Have you seen the movie Slum Dog Millionaire?

I know we could do better as far a trash is concerned, and as a developed country its a lot easier to spend the resources. But that to is changing in this country. Less money to deal with larger issues such as this will be harder to find.

As far as from what I have seen in other parts of the world, its not to bad here. The focus I believe should be put on other countries. Much more trash in 2nd and 3rd world countries as well as many of the Nuclear developed counties that do not have the standards we have here.

Just saying the that we are leading the way, but not everyone around the world seems all to concerned about the larger issue of pollution.
I think we are doing fairly well by most accounts. Sure the run off rivers collect a lot of unwanted debris when it rains and dumps it into the ocean. The air in Southern Calif. is a thousand times better than when I was a kid growing up in the Inland Empire.
Well I could go on about this, but not until other countries get on board about this sort of thing and change their ways I give little hope that much outside our borders will get much better with the exception of some places. The rest of the world needs to step up and do their part.

I applaud your heart felt concern for the wildlife and the habitats they live in.

That's why I don't drink out of plastic bottles.
Only beer in aluminum cans. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd259/gobbleinwoods/emotions/smilie_bier2.gif
