Went down to Cabo San Lucas for a super long weekend. Fished and got stuck by a hurricane.
This is the fishing report chapter of that story
On Friday night my bud - Double D, met a lady in the lobby who was looking for additional people for her charter.
So we all got together. We meet the next morning and head for the dock.
We meet the broker
Wheres the boat ?
Its broken but its will be coming, we're told.
So we decided to buy out 1-day licenses and save $2 each.
We come back and the boat shows up.
Wave good bye to our broker and are underway with Ernie #1 and Ernie # 2, father and son, now we need to make a stop for fuel
Here we are getting fuel

We then head out only to drop of Ernie #1 and pick up Fidel, our deckhand
We're off ?
Nope we need bait, arrrrggg !!!
The 700 charter finally makes it out of the harbor at 8am.
Heres me and Double D on the way out

Capt Ernie #2 runs up a flank bell and we're hauling out to the fishing grounds.
Within 20 minutes we're there and Fidel is putting out the 6 lines.
By the time he gets to line # 4 , line 1 is off and running - 6 minutes to hookup this ain't bad.
Double D grabs the pole and makes short work of a Yellow Fin Tuna.
Our new friend Amy is next.
She hooks up on a nice Bull Dorado.
She got tired and passed me the pole to land.
Heres the pic

Next we landed a sailfish, that SOB deep throated the hook, and unfortunately as we reeled, we ripped his guts out through his mouth.
So when we finally landed him he had like 2 feet of innards dangling.
A waste of a beautiful fish

So its towards the end of the day
We're heading back at this point we done OK
9 Dorado with one being a large Bull
1 Yellow Fin Tuna
1 Sailfish
However Fidel our deck hand still has lines out
and off it goes again
The captain sees the school and flips the live bait smack into the middle of it.
WOOOO HOOO !!!!
Double hookup !!!!
The count is now 11 Dorados, ok maybe this is enough.
NOPE
1 Huge Bull decided it wanted our lure.
Let me tell you, HE REALLY WANTED IT !!!
Double D struggled for 25 minutes before tappin out and handing me the pole. Between forearm fatigue and thumb-lock he was done for a while. I start fightin this thing and was like whoa, this is a big one. There was not one easy part to the fight. It was pulling dead weight or fighting the WHOLE time. I finally tired out too after @ 20 minutes and DoubleD finished it off in the final 10 minutes or so. WOW what a workout !!!
Total 14 fish =
12 Dorado (1 large bull, 1 REALLY Large Bull)
1 YFT
1 Sailfish
The last massive Bull Dorado can be seen in these obligatory dockside pics
