Decided to do a Re-Con fishing expedition in a north L.A.. area that

I had only tried a couple of summers ago about three times. This time

on a medium and more advantages tide for that area, was more serious

about trying out now ,and near future ,to really develope this area into a

good producing hunting or catching area !!! SOOOOO MANY VARIABLES

to try to read and or figure out, many different , permanent structured or

Boiler type terrain situations at different tide levels!!! Going to take a lot of

time, trial, and patience, but hopefully by August http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_idea.gif Should be

producing some decent Halibut and Perch http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif Actually went there twice

today !!! Once at 7am-9am. then went to try another spot . (Wind was

blowing hard early session !!! ) Winds died down about 9.30am. so went

back to a real low tide cond. which revealed http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif some nice

boilers that I did not see in morn. session !!!

Got this new 'Berkley Havoc" Grub bait at S. Chalet the other day, with

the red flake in it, which the perch seem to like !

Beautiful fish!!!

What size lead head do you use, and on what pound test do you throw it on, if you dont mind me askin?

1/16th head in heavy rocky ground areas, Usually 1/8th in sand rock structure i,e. boilers with sand allies around

them, then if waves or currents are slight problem, will throw 1/4oz head . Line has been sometimes 8lb.sometimes

10lb.depends to, on which rod/reel combo I use for diff. conds.

Good job mixing it up Daniel.I like the change up on lead head trailers for the piggies. I've been doing the same myself and it's kinda fun to switch it up and see if you can get them to go off on a creative setup. Pretty much if you can pin any bait behind a leadhead it will get hit sooner or later. The only problem I've been having is the rats in the trenches that chew up your bait before a nice one comes along.

Damn Rats ....... LOL
