Good morning FNN:
I would like to share this special story with all of you.
Last year our Lagoon sign blew away in a very bad wind storm.
The sign blew away, broke into pieces, and it appeared to be lost forever.
Fortunately our lead mechanic Dave Quast, and his assistant Johnny Gilabert had different ideas.
They picked up all the pieces, put it all back together, refurbished, repainted and remounted the sign.
The finishing touch was added by Mike Tomaselli, the original sign maker who repainted to center piece trout.
The sign is important to Irvine Lake because it is a piece of our history, it marked the day the kids Lagoon was opened,
and it is dedicated to the special volunteer who built the lagoon, Mr. Frank Aguilera of Orange.
The sign is beautiful again and back where it belongs in front of the Kids Lagoon.
A special thank you to Dave and Johnny for all the good work and for not letting it go.

Pictured above is Frank Aguilera builder of the Childrens Lagoon. Frank was very happy to see
his sign back in front of the Childrens Lagoon.

Dave Quast and Frank Aguilera share a special moment in front of the Childrens lagoon. I think I
saw a tear in Daves eye..It meant a lot to Dave to get Frank's legacy back on display.
Thank you,
Vineline
