Headed up to RINCON for some R&R and a little surf fishing. Got there at low tide, so I did some recon of the rocks and troughs and sandy flats that would soon be under water. Me and my wife usually don't head up here until late May when the weather is nicer, but with our tight schedules this was our only window and we took it. It payed off in a big way with warm weather and sunny skies. Gotta rewire my brain when I walk out of my room and I see this view. I'm like man forget about life's everday B.S. and enjoy!!!

Hit the surf for three separate sessions, once at night and twice during the day. Water was cold and a little murky. Usually water visibility is great here, but the recent storm must of churned up the bottom. Fishing was slower than usual. Noticed a few things, sand crabs were scarce, no predatory birds around and no bait fish in the water. Guess that's just winter fishing. Caught some smaller BSP on fish crack. It seemed that a lot of the perch had healed or healing bite marks on them. HMMM!!, makes you wonder whats lurking out there.

I fished on the north side and south side of rincon with no luck, ended up back in front of our place. Threw everything but the kitchen sink at them with no luck. In the end I got desperate and busted open a mussel and tossed out some lips. My last fish was this 14 incher.

Love this place, batteries recharged!! Spending time with family and a little fishing therapy on the side is good for the soul.
