P-Day willow beach

Skunked.......all the guys in boats took off down river and everyone on shore fished on the peir. I threw everything and the kitchen sink at the stripers, i didn't even get hit on a chovie' i let soak for allmost 2 hours. Also tried for trout all day with nothing. Didn't see anyone catch anything. I fished the shore on both sides of the marina and the pier. I guess when the stock every friday, between all the stripers and all the people they got wiped out. I did see a few big carp though.

They don't get wiped out but they do swim. The pier is the easiest spot from shore at Willow for trout when you fish close to the stocking day. Stripers are always hard work at Willow and a boat is by far the preferred method and even then skunks are the norm, the idea is though if you do get a bite it's usually a big one. Willow is not about multiple small to medium size fish it's all about big fish that are chasing the trout around.

Also not best time of the year but should be getting good soon.
