Hi, I'm looking to take my kids fishing for some pan fish later this week but I don't know where to take them. I'm not a freshwater guy. Just somewhere I can fish from shore, back my truck into and hang out with the family. Any info would be great guys/gals...I live in Oceanside so somewhere local would be great.

Not sure what's down in your area, but I've got to say.. that the Bluegill bite is not really very good yet. It's still a little cool for Bluegill to start biting. Around March-April they start hitting pretty good. But if you look around and check with some parks that have fishing ponds or small lakes down San Diego way, you might find a place where they are biting. I would call some tackle shops in your area and ask them.. Nothing better than taking the kids fishing... when they can catch some fish!

Lake poway is legit,cheap, and nearby but you can't park your truck near the water
