Hit up the Pudd for about 45 minutes yesterday, only had one bite and it was a fat female. Caught it on chartreuse/white turbo dough. Measured 18 inches long and weighed in at 2.25 lbs, some of you pay lake guys might be laughing but this is a HUGE fish by Puddingstone standards. 9 out of 10 rainbows caught at the Pudd are only 10-11 inches long and weigh less than a pound. This is my biggest catch yet at the Pudd so I'm pretty excited about it, she put up a great fight also. I was gonna try and let her go but she was hooked so deep I couldn't even see the eyelet. 45 minutes well spent....:Big Grin:

Big pudd trout! How's fishing been out there lately? Trying to get out there soon, been skunked last few times I've gone.

dang....how long do you think it will take the fish to recover from the die off

No, not recently. The trout bite was on fire in certain spots for the last two weeks but with the cold front coming in, it will probably die down a bit. I believe the bass bite is still slow also, all the bass guys I've talked to recently said they haven't had much action lately.

Not too sure, from what I saw it wasn't major but it did wreck the fishing for a few weeks. I would call it more of a partial die off. Everything seems to be back to normal now from what I can see but I think it was probably the shad and bluegill that suffered the most casualties...

I agree with that, but I saw a huge number of bass dying as well. About a week after the die off, there were a few days of wide open crappie and bluegill also.

Yeah I saw some bass also, I took a pic of one on the north shore that was easily 24 inches long and DD weight...bummer. They'll recover...
