TB and I started out with a top secret mission.. {top secret to the wife}

TB tells me I am navigator and wants to relax and ride and cast with no stress of getting on fish.

I said, alright, I know just the spot that is producing..

We plan on 6 am at my house and as always I get a text at 5 am hes outside. {like always}..

So I drag my feet because we had 1.5 hrs till daylight and we all know the daytime is the right time now.

Mosey on over to the spot and 15 mins go by with nothing. I'm starting to second guess but I know sun wasn't up yet and pretty soon TB hooks up, and again, and again.. Putting a whoopin on me. At one point he had me 5-1,...

We camped on this spot for an hour and a half at least and picked off 11 fish total. TB with the 1/2 ounce fluke and me with the 3/4. I was second guessing that decision as well. I was contacting bottom and TB never touched it, so maybe fish started up to the surface??? Like I said we left that spot with a keeper a piece.

Second spot was a siphon with those slots and the concrete that encases the slot.

TB pops around with the .5 ounce and nuttin... we hit sweet spots and nuttin.. Fixing to leave I run to the slots and try my .75 ounce and touch bottom and its SOLID... I swing and its massive head shakes and drag peelin.. I like MM blah blah, drag peel qoute but this fight was about to get nuts..

I yell for TB to help because with this 10 lb line and light rod I'm using and in this concrete slot I was screwed big time. I backed up keeping my line off the concrete and TB guided my line through the 1 inch gap in the concrete support to let the striper run down stream... Was a struggle... get down stream and no way I could tuna sling him so TB shimmies down the concrete and lips him...

Solid fish. Just shy of 7.. but with the drama it felt like a 20.

We ended up with one more keeper down the road for 13 total.
