Jason and I took a couple (Ron and Nina ) new to the lake out on a pontoon yesterday. Anchored in the flats and baited down, using various baits, mice tails power bait, and pinch crawlers, within minuts I had the first fish in the boat. Little guy hit my mice tail. From that point on it was a mice tail day. We got 15 nice fish, nothing of any size but nice fish. Most of which were caught on the mice tails. Tried trolling a little but no luck. The couple we took out could not have had a better first experience at irvine lake.

No fish on the troll? That is impossible! Lol! You mean you didn't want to cram 4 people on your boat. I don't blame you! Congrats on a good day on the water. Nice job putting some newbies on some fish and introducing them to the fishing haven we love, the Vine. Mice tails are very productive when you find the fish. Thanks for the report!

I use a size 10 mosquito hook a on a 10-12 inch leader with a pinch weight. Either hook the mice tail thru the egg or wacky style.
