Great overcast day for fishing. Got to Balboa Pier at 9:30am. Most other anglers were having a slow day. All I caught besides bait fish was this very small barracuda.

Got to M Street at about noon, caught one small bass on live bait.

very nice catch, u should fish at night its lot better than morning or the afternoon.

Did you see the new sign that went up on the pole at m street? The no overhead casting one? I wondered if they are going to enforce it? Would it be harbor partrol or dfg doing that?

I saw mention of this sign on another board and though I'd look up the city code and see if it really covered M st. Here's what I found...
11.20.030 Overhead Casting.
No person shall cast or throw over his head or shoulders any metal or mineral weight or sinker attached to any fishing line or fishing tackle, on or from any dock, wharf, pier, breakwater, jetty, seawall, or sidewalk within the City. (Ord. 95-1 (part), 1995: 1949 Code § 4229)
Looks like they could restrict overhead casting anywhere!!! I guess they just enforce it where they're having problems.... :shock:
