I am new to trolling and want to start trying here at Irvine so I was going to start with these flickershads I have been reading about. What size is best for this lake? The 1.6 in that dives 6-8 feet or 2in 9-11? Any input in general would be appreciated. Thanks!

Both sizes work well, just depends on where the fish are suspended. But both sizes will get hits. Its the color that you want to get right! lol

It all depends on what the fish want that day! I've tried trolling the same color same lure just different size, and only get hit on one of the two all day long. Sometimes size does matter! The action can be different based on size, just like speed can affect the action too.

Thanks guy's for the input. I will just a couple of each in the common fire tiger and pink and try them all.

The others are right on the money. Each day the conditions change and best bet is a variety so that you can find the magic lure and depth to score! Good luck.

I've been using the 4's (4cm) in hot pink and chrome clown and the 5's in firetiger with great success, I saw that a chrome clown won the tournement on Saturday (8.8lbs). These lures have great action and bb's in them that give them a rattle. Here's a link, if you scroll down a little it will show a depth chart for the different sizes.

Thanks Hunt4fish. I was actually using the 4cm chrome clown when I caught my one.
