Perris was pretty cloudy today, and I think fishing was hurting a little after the rain. Landed a dink when I first arrived but nothing but short bites for a few hours after that. As I was getting ready to leave I got a decent bite, but missed the hook set. I was about to real up but the fish came right back and I was able to set the hook this time. Landed the fish and it turned out to be my personal best bass. 5 lbs 7 oz. Not a monster to most people, but I was very excited to get it. Took a few quick pics and let her go.

Also, saw some big fish boiling in the morning. I was wondering if Perris had strippers all over the lake, or just by the oxygen tower place. I was on the complete opposite side of the lake from where they are usually caught but I feel like they may have been strippers. They definitely weren't carp and I'm not sure what they were chasing because I saw no shad. Saw a few decent LMB's surface today so maybe that's all it was though....

well I imagine the stripers are everywhere the shad is, and just because there was no bait flickering on the surface doesn't mean there wasn't any bait in the area. but that still doesn't mean they were stripers. stripers and largemouth will group together when chasing shad, and there's really no way to tell a striper boil from a largemouth boil other then actually seeing the fish itself.

to add to that I've also seen catfish boiling there towards the back of the lake, everything eats shad at perris.

I think you are asking me because there was a tournament right? I wasn't in the tournament (though now I wish I would have known about it ha), I used someone's scale who was around when I caught it.
