an old client whoes fished alot with me over the years sent a email and wanted some striper action and for his good friend who was a striper virgin to boot. i told jason the undercover reports i had been getting was silverwood was popping again ,so that was the game plan. jason and gene showed up and the striper hunt was on. we started near the marina we found lots of small bait schools but no stripers around ,so we worked are way out the main channel checking shallow and deep , most of the bait and stripers were deep ,so we pushed on. we got out to the main lake and started seeing bigger and bigger schools ,finally we found an area with active fish we made a pass over a hump with bait and fish and it was hookup!!!!!! jason grabbed one rod gene the other , ended up gene had a single fish and jason had a triple hookup ,that was a nice start to a beautifull day on the water is was warm and no wind all day the fishing gods were very nice to us. the only problem was alot of boats all in one area trying to pick up the stripers. later in the day gene was the person up for the next hook up and he got a triple ,there was some yelling and celebrating going on. the big boys gave us a couple thrills slammimg the rigs foe a short fight then only to find a busted 50 lb leader the bigpig rosie chang scrwewed us a couple times . the fishing in the morning was good the afternoon slow. we hit a limit and a half so it was a success. thank you jason and gene for all the laughs and all the striper killing fun . and a special thank you jason foe the coolass lure , i hope i dont lose it to a big fish like the last one ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,bob,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Haha just saw this report. Great job. Almost went the same day but ended up in the harbor for some rat bass only.

Was the water level low?

Once again...another successful guide trip. For me, it wasn't so much about catching trout but more about what I learned and getting my zillion questions answered!
