Yucaipa day after derby

Had nothing better to do so i went fishing!! I got there about 830 I wanted to sleep in a little haha. Started at the bottom lake and saw many fish pulled out but only from the north side of the lake between the two inlets. No one else on the lake was catching a thing!! I had a few bites but nothing stuck I stayed around till around 11 then went to the top lake where I always have good luck. I walked to my normal spot by the inlet and i saw all kinds of fish hanging out in the inlet and only one guy was fishing in the area. It was hard to believe after how packed the lower lake was. The guy told me the fish were not biting anything still spooked from the tourney i think. But after finding the right color jig and the right sent the bite was on!!! The other guy was the hot stick of the day filling up a few peoples stringers not knowing how to throw the jigs, he also ended up with a nice 8.5 pounder mid afternoon. I ended up catching about 10 keeping 5 for dinner and the freezer! also the fish were big!! I ended up with two 4 plus pounders and the others were about 2 pounds. A 9.5 came out on my snot rocket lip ripperz jig awesome. Had a great day with a slow cold morning!!! Ill be tubing at corona on sat. Tight lines God bless!!! Here are some pics I took out there.

I ended up with two 4 plus pounders and the others were about 2 pounds. about 415 I went up and cleaned my fish and had a few minutes left before the lake was closed so i went back down to the inlet and tried for a few more. Maaaaaaan did it pay off!!!! 9.5 came out on my snot rocket lip ripperz jig awesome Since I had my limit cleaned already in the car i gave it to a guy that was still there. Had a great day with a slow cold morning!!! Ill be tubing at corona on sat. Tight lines God bless!!! Here are some pics I took out there.

Very nice report! That must be awesome being able to sightfish some nice sized trout.

This looks like its shooting fish in a barrel. My bet this place is fished out in hours after the stocking.

Yucaipa is always weird like that when i go. never catch anything on bait but you can always see the fish in the shallows and they only hit lures and jigs when they feel like it. you can throw the same thing at the same fish 10 times but the 11th time they may hit it. Really odd. I dont know if the fish are always like that or not but the past 3 times i have gone the fish have been like that.
