dk duct 2013 report card

so i had to b in SF to pick up my wife from airport at noon so i left early and hit the duct on my way,

i got there around 7am 29dig it was cold,

fished area for about 40 min and i had 4 hook ups but only 2 hit the dirt. turns out to b 3 1/2 and 6#er i was off on my initial estimate

so on the way back wife was asleep so i hit the same gate for 15 min as the sun set and i got 1 more 5 or 6 pounds did not keep this one so did not put him on scale. had to wake the wife to take pic

andrew hit me up last night wanted to hit the duct and get his duct cherry popped so we hit it for a couple hours started right at 7on the dot.

andrew was first to get hit but was late to set the hook. NOOB. lmao

i got a short strike a few min later

we work the whole area hard then i look over see andrew pole load up as he was working the fluke, he raises the rod and starts reeling in the fish nice fish rod bent over then off it come. he was upset. i told him your fault dont just start reeling in set that hook, swing for the stars, make gary proud. i dont think he will make that mistake again

no more action for andrew but over the next hour i get 2 small ones. my first upside fish was the first.

so i made another run to the duct only had a couple hours so had to work fast. run and gun. first stop i worked it hard i had 5 hits 2 stuck and 1 came off as i slung him up and back he goes

1st fish

went to the next spot worked it for about 15 min nothing so i changed the depth i was working the fluke this time i only let it fall 5 sec then i gave it 2 pops and hook up. thought for a sec he was bigger than he was but only 8.1#

ran to spot #3 to see if the water was still fowing out of the bait grate and it sure was 1st cast fish on. stayed for few mor min got another hit but no stick

so time to go as im driving down the duct i see this but i only had time for one cast and thats all i needed

so all my bigger fish the 5#er the two 6#ers and the 7#er and todays 8#er all came from the same gate. i no why now

looks like 1 1/2 american shad and 50 smaller bait fish, lots of food at that gate
