Hey I'll help out. U got 34 views so far and no replies... Ouch.

Anyways, I use Carolina rig with 1/8 oz. egg sinker and 2-4 lb. fluoro leader (about 18") and size 18 or 20 treble hook when using powerbait. I use mosquito size 8 when using powerworm. And I also use mosquito size 6 if I'm using inflated 1/2 nightcrawler with maybe some Angler Bros garlic or whatever scent u like.

for using power bait same as dkinla said and if the size of the leader aint working then either shorten it or make it longer till u find the right one. Also when using a trout worm i use a size 10 trout worm hook and a split shot above maybe 16 inches or just keep adjusting till u find the right length as well.

This guy has been told many times what to do and how to set up for trout. He needs to scrap his catfish rods and feels and buy trout gear. I have in person and on this web site sent him PMS on how to set up. So again

4lb main line set up with an 1/4 slinder sinker to a swivel. Then an 14-16inch leader with a 16 treb hook for power bait or a 14 moscito hook for worm. Basic setup for bait and wait shore or boat.

Do you guys use beads between the weight and swivel?

Crappie John Finger jigs!

Aren't those things guaranteed to catch 17-pound trout from every water you fish?

Why use a swivel? Instead, thread an egg sinker onto the main line and use a size BB splitshot to hold the slider in place. Two fewer knots to (potentially) fail, and it only takes three seconds to lengthen or shorten the length of the leader (just adjust the position of the splitshot).
If I'm using a lot of lead to launch a bait then I use a swivel on heavier main line with the splitshot between the swivel and the slider. A bead would work well, maybe even better, in that application.

Jerk It Soft Baits. 3'' in smoke, green, salt n pepper. On a lead head and or drop shot. Finger the line as it goes onto the spool to give a action. Deadly...

Fingering it always leads to some action!

I have 2# Izor XXX line on my reel and use a carolina keeper and 1/4 egg sinker so I can adjust the depth I am fishing and not have to bother with a leader at all. That's for the bait 'n wait. Mostly I drop shot a wacky worm with the other rod. Seems I can get more action out of the dropshot than straight rigging with a split shot because with the D/S I can rig straight or wacky.
