Do I need a wader belt? I understand that if things go wrong, your waders can fill up with water asap. i do have a pfd- Is that good enough? Thanks

There are a few videos of different people who broke the myth., you'll get wet. but I'd doubt it'll fill up and drown ya.

Now what about neoprene since they tend to soak up much easier & can get heavy really faster???....

Yep! It's not like the water in the waders is some how heavier then the water outside the waders.

Go with a belt. The main benefit is when you do dunk, you only get soaked up top. With a belt, your boys and lowers will stay dry. I've been all the under w/o. It sucks.

yes, the belt is very very important.
