Just some interesting info about the "new" Laguna Lake-

The first fish and their numbers to go into Laguna Lake on and about November 2005:

350 3-6 inch Largemouth Bass
1,750 fingerling Northern Bluegill
3,500 small Channel Catfish

No fishing was allow for about 1 year after the initial stocking. No doubt the Redears that are in the lake came in with the baby Bluegill.
Were crappie ever put in the lake?

Nope!!!! Their were plans to do it, but the only Crappie they found in a hatchery were very expensive and they passed on buying them. The first stocking of adult Channel catfish was July 3, 2006 and they planted 1,000 lbs paid for by the city. The fishing for those catfish was unreal, after things settled down I would catch 5-15 catfish every evening till Nov. I also caught a cute little blonde will I was fishing for all those catfish. lol All catfish were safetly released by me back into their home.
