I got all the important projects done for my wife in the morning on sat. I had the afternoon off, soooooo I went to fish Perris. I went to lot 11-12, unloaded the tube, rigged the 4 wt, spent the next 45 min or so trolling slowly. About the time I was going to change flies I hooked and landed a nice size blue gill, or maybe a red ear(?) Nice fat one that took a size 14 black nymph pattern. Nothing for awhile again, changed flies, put on a damsel nymph and promptly caught a small, 11" large mouth. Both caught near the middle of the lake, not near the shore as I would have expected. Fished another hour or so, and nothin' else. A good day in spite of slow fishin'. Maybe tomorrow if I can escape my wife's to do list again. I would post pics if I knew how, but I will need to entice my grandson to show me how when we see him for Christmas.
