When is the best time to fish for Halibut in southbay area morning or night? Low tide or high tide? All I seem to catch are Lizard fish, small Calico's, small bat rays and one small Halibut in MDR.

It really depends on the location.

Some of my spots are best fished when the tide is around 0.60 feet..

..while others, like storm drains, are best at high tide.

Ill target deeper areas when the tide is so low, that docks are sitting on the sand.

When that happens the baybass are forced to leave docks.

If youre surf fishing, it can also vary. If there are jetties like at nph, ill t-rig and cast tight along the rocks.

Halis like chilling around rocks.
