I'm kind of tossing the idea around of getting a Hummingbird Fishin' Buddy 120 depth finder for my float tube. I like the more expensive 140c because of it's color screen, but not sure it's worth spending the extra $90 -$100 for just the color. Anybody have a 140c? How do you like it?

I don't have a 140 mine's a 596 BUT I just changed it from an old Eagle B&W. Tell you the truth the color is fun and maybe a bit easier to see in certain light but it doesn't let you "see" the fish any easier. So the short answer is NO. It's not worth $100 for just color vs B&W.

I have the 140c. Not sure i would go for the color if i could go back. The majority of the time i use it to measure depth. Havent particularly found the fishfinding aspect of it all that accurate.

I got the 120 it works great for what i need it for. Best best is buying a $100 Lowrance X-4 and mount it yourself
