I think those are Wel's catfish. They're pretty damn aggressive or opportunistic from what I've seen.

They are wels cats...not the largest freshwater fish tho. The catfish in Mekong river(Thailand) is still the largest as I recall

The story said it's the "largest freshwater fish on the continent". Last I checked Thailand is in a different continent.

My bad I missed that part. Then that is definitely true. Have seem em on TV and always wanted to catch one.
