Went off Pedro rockfish fishing about 100' deep tuesday 12/4/12.
Landed 3 Reds, 1 Blacksmith Perch, and my buddy got 3 perch.
All perch released. Then the wind came so we headed in. Did a drift on the Pier 400 wall and we saw a Otter

The Otter was moving west and we were drifting east. Thought it was a Seal pup at first
but it stopped and stuck his head up and it was definitely not a seal. Had more of a longer neck and triangle shape to the head. Lost sight of it. Finished the drift then went looking for it. Followed the 400 wall all the way to the CUT terminal but never saw it.

I have heard of Pt Fermin sightings and there is a Pt Vicente video showing one.
Sure would be great if they repopulated Palos Verdes.

Awesome. Saw one in Santa Barbara one time when I was fishing in the kelp right near shore. Had to do a triple take.

That's awesome! My cousin claimed he saw one before, two years ago, at Pierpoint right where the LA river drains into LB. This was towards the evening on the Queen Mary side. I may just believe him now.
