Does anyone know why the water is 62 *F? Is there a cold-water current. Today @ San Clemente the air temperature was 85 *F.

Seems impossible that the water temp was 62 degrees but I heard the same thing.Check out this picture.I was working in the valley today and it was blazin hot

Theres no way the water temp was 62* .Mustv'e been a mistake or something
No mistake its 62 outside the breakwall in the LBC. I went out last night the swell was big and the wind has been blowing hard all week. Very strong current took 6 oz. to hold bottom in 90' of water. Needless to say fishing sucks, caught a couple sculpin thats it.

The local buoy (San Pedro) reading was in the low 60's yesterday but it is already back up to the high 60's and even 70 degrees now.
