so I think registration is gonna start tonight at 11pm to register your American Express card to get $25 back for spending $25 or more at your local participating small business on 11/24/12 (Small Business Saturday).
keep a look out here on this website for when the registration opens. They only have a certain number of registrations available, so I would sign up quick before they run out.

Last year, I was able to get $100 of free tackle from my purchases at Fisn'n Fools here in Granada Hills.
Anyways, you can go to any participating small business to make your $25 or more purchase (and usually, the credit shows up within a couple hours). If you have multiple Amex cards, then sign each one up. They just have to be different credit card numbers.
For instance, say you wanna buy a $150 reel and you have 6 separate amex cards, then you could have them put $25 on each amex credit card.

On November 24th, just spend $25 or more at any local, small business and charge it to your AMEX card that you registered, and you'll see a $25 statement credit show up in a few days (within 5 business days).
I did this last year, and got $100 worth of fishing tackle/gear at my local tackle shop by using the 4 cards I have.
Obviously, you can use your AMEX at any local, non-chain, small business such as:
locally owned restaurants
locally owned grocery stores
locally owned liquor stores------**update: hmmm.. I don't think booze is eligible this year**
locally owned sporting goods stores
local meat market
local mechanic
local gas station (no chain)
independent book stores
here's what the AMEX website says:
Eligible small business merchants are independently owned small businesses located in the United States that accept the American Express Card. Purchases made at large or national chain stores, at franchised business locations and at government agencies are not eligible. Prepaid, Corporate Cards and ExpressPay transactions are not eligible.
Now, I took advantage of this last year, and will again this year on November 24th! A pretty good way to load up on some fishing tackle and booze... nice combo there. :wink:
