Im planning a trip to Carlsbad Lagoon with some buddies and i was wondering if there is any offlimit spots that anyone knows of. Ive been looking on google earth and have driven by lots of times and i have some good spots to scope out. Im thinking about trying it out by the bridge right by the entrance to the lagoon at around high tide has anyone had any luck in this area?

I fished the area last Sunday for the first time. Got a few short halibuts n calicos on the ds... I parked off garfield. Plenty of baitfish in the back where weeds r growing. Saw a guy using sabiki to make bait..(looks like smelt). Some had white PVC pump making bait. I did check out the bridge. Current was ripping pretty good. An old timer was fishing mussels and was doing ok with nice size buttermouth perch. Place looks fishy....

I would check Dfg site for off limits area...
