Got the chance to fish the LNL opener with my Dad and brother.
Got in line at around 520am, was about #17 or so. By the time 6am rolled around there were about 25 cars in line.

Was maybe the 2nd or 3rd boat in the water, and headed to the flats. (Rick mentioned when I bought our passes that it was zone 4, inlet or flats, since the water was cooler in that area of the lake).

Tried a good spot near the edge of the flats and the inlet area first since so few boaters were out there. Nothing after about 10 min. We noticed a few shore guys hook up in zone 4, so decided to move towards the inlet.

Moved around in the inlet for a bit, nothing. Did manage to catch a tiny bass on a nightcrawler, but that was about it. Finally located the fish at around 730 or 8, and it was steady fishing from there.

We had 6 poles in the water, and together we caught 11 trout + two dink bass. Trout were all very nice size. All 2-3 lbs, maybe a 4 pounder in there. When we got back to the boat dock, we weighed 9 on the trout and their total weight was 20 lbs. (We gave away 2 on the lake to a boat with a family in it that hadn't caught anything).

Noticed the water was warm, probably in high 60's, and the fish seemed lethargic. They wouldn't bite anything for us except powerbait. We tried worms, micetails, mealworm+marshmellows, jigs, lures, and kastmasters, but nothing on those.
There was a couple of guys on shore that were using kastmasters and they limited out pretty quickly early, but they were only ones consistently catching on lures that we saw.

We fished 4lb mono (izor) main line, with 4lb seaguar flouro leaders, leaders were short (8-10"). Owner 10 hooks.

It was raining when we got there, and drizzled a little bit here and there during the day. Fish were in close to shore.

Tight lines everyone! So excited trout season is here!
Sorry not a lot of pix. The lake staff took our picture for their fishing report, so should be up on their website soon... :)
