Fished with bait and got a couple 5 pounder stripers and a lil kitty. I only caught the one and my girl finally broke the curse and caught her first fish and then a catfish to boot.

That is the beady eyed catfish that we catch in Castaic.
I tried eating them and didn't like them. I figured thatI hadn't handled it well and tried it again. I still didn't like it.
When my buddy Bong told me that he didn't want them that kinda sealed the deal. He's Philipino. He's a lot more tolerant when it comes to fish than I am.
They are edible but IMO, not good food.
I don't know what they are really called.

They are white cats we used to catch them at quail lake too. Really broad head and smaller body I think the record is 12#. we used to catch them in kaweah before they poisoned it.
