Got to my spot at 6:12 am yesterday and decided to hit my spot right away the was a good amount of bait and birds. First cast I got hit a few times but it turned out to be a bird. So I moved I casted twice and nothing. Then on my second cast my Big Hammer swimbait gets slammed so I wait 3 second and feel the weight of the fish and BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM set it. Once I set the hook this fish was pissed off! After several runs and strong head shakesshe starts to tire and the hardest scaryest part of the fight begins the netting. My partner Gilbert could not see the fish so I had to bring her head out of the water but finally we landed her. Finally once I got the fish to the light I notice that the fish was smaller than it fought. I brought it back to the car and she taped 27 ins. This fish broke my two week losing streak. Once I bagged up my fish up I was back to fishing. Got on to school of bait and I put my favorite hammer on and started throwing it. Second cast got slammed and swung early. Then three casts later I get slammed I wait for my rod to load up and then set it. After a small fight I pulled up and 1 1/2 YFC. Welater drive home and fish off the docks 2 min from my house Gilbert landed three halis and I managed to complete my day with a nice hard fighting sand bass. Beautiful day on the water with my fishing buddy and meeting new fishin friends.

Dude, 27 inches ain't too bad at all. May have fought like a 40", but that's what it's all about right? Always good to have something pulling on that line like that. Glad to hear you're back in the game!

Congrats!

I guess that spot is good! lol. I've tried that spot a few times and didn't even get a bite! I guess I gotta try it during different tides.

Keep up the good work!

I can see your killing the hali's from a new spot. I remember talking with you at 72nd jetty and catching halibut with the dropshot. I finally made a username here  Congrats on your fish.

KF,

Very nice Harbor Flattie that I would assune from the pics!

Trust me that the most pressure is on the poor sole handling the net trying to be helpful! Been there and done that a few times here and there!
