So I understand the adult derby is on for Nov 3rd. But no pre sale tickets, gotta getem at the gate...

Usually 2 weeks prior. They close the park so no pre fishing

idk it there is a website. but its 7-11 am this saturday. gates open at 6am. pay $20 at the gate. usually if you arrive by 5am you can get a decent spot in line.
most years the winner is in the 9-10 lb class.

well me and a buddy will be there, and maybe this year i might actually catch a fish, this will be my third derby and i've taken the kids to a couple of kids derbys but I've never caught a fish at apollo yet.

I think its time to win some more money,its been a few years ,but its so close a 5 minute drive isnt that bad, lol,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

win money? I would just be happy to catch fish. It seams they dont bight for me til 11 am. I will be going if i dont have to work. But work on saturday is guarenteed money.

they bite right from the beginning in close ,then they move away from the shore,lures and jigs usally rule the day,,,,,,,,,,,,,T/O,,,,,,,,

Nothing big... 5-10 bucks for biggest fish... if we can get a decent pool winner will at least get back their entry fee

Heck the only bet I would wage is that my skunk streak at apollo would continue :Crying: , however I do have a bottle of bite-on garlic which got my two daughters limits at the kids derby back in may, so it may be my turn to finally catch a fish at apollo park :Big Grin:

i hear the fishing sucked at the derby, and the fish were tiny compared to the usuall 10 lbers
I caught three all over one pound each, one pounders seemed to be the norm out there, bug fish caught yesterday during the derby was 6lbs+ second place wet to 2pound something. This was my first time there they need to do stuff differently to even out the way people can win the mystry weight, the further one is from the pump house the less your chances are of winning that prize, guess if I go again the key is to get a spot near there

yea, they should have 2 or 3 places for the mystery weight. that part of the derby is realtively new.
