I'm knee deep in an aluminum rebuild/customization trolling machine. I was wiring up the bow Nav light and started thinking about the consequences of putting a current through the boat if I didn't isolate the wiring right.
Then I started thinking about just the natural current a boat. The natural current fiberglass and aluminum has as it moves through the water. {that zinc anode thingy that corrodes yearly}
Started researching online and found this site, thought I would share.
If you troll at all you need to read. If you use a downrigger you really need to read.
Keep in mind this site is trying to sell a product, but its information is sound and every troller should come to grips with the principle of electrical fields created by a moving boat in water and electrolysis
