Did some open ocean toobing recently (last week) with a buddy. We fished practically the surf area as well as nearshore reefs and kelp beds.
Friends 19-20in bass.

That stretch of beach is surrounded by breakers, so it keeps the water fairly calm. Definitely not your average beach.

What about the da.ger of sharks being attracted by bleeding fish?
I would like to try saltfishing in a tube but I keep thinking of the movie jaws .
Youre DOWN!

Then go to the harbor and stay away from the sea lions

Way more dangerous driving a car to the harbor if you believe in odds.
Skin divers swim around with bleeding fish, no big deal.

Ive spent many years toobig and board fishing so i feel comfortable out there. and from my experience you need to worry more about seals then sharks whether you're in the harbor or surf. And the waves are sometimes a problem they stole my specialized sunglasses last time I was trying to get back to the beach. As for the blood in the water most fish i catch are released. would be fun to nail a big Leo from one though. I've seen a big ray hooked from one and they'll give you a sleigh ride. And as for the vid ? Ya they boogied for the bottom. It's where all my fish were hooked.
