General season closes Nov 15th I think. The Upper and Lower Owens river are open all year round. Check the regs for restrictions (artificals only, barbless at some locations on the river).

Umm could you give a few more details about your trip? It's kinda vague!
WOW what an amazing trip! Thanks for taking the time to write that up, I surely enjoyed the read as much as you enjoyed your trip!

Great looking trip. Making me miss Ca and the sierras more than I already was. Those red fish at the twins are the spawning kokonee. Pretty neat to see. Even better is a big brown chasing one down. Another yeat and a half and I will be back up there myself. Thanks for the report.

Hi Tom,

Yes, I'm sure fuel costs will effect the number of folks enjoying the great natural outdoors of which we share so many experiences.

Hope to repeat this experience in the years to come.

Hi JAG107,

Yep, writing it was one way of both reliving it a bit and ....... cementing certain data in this old brain for future trip plans.

Thanks,

Ron,

I'm a guy sprung on bass fishing. But this report got me thinking hard about hitting the mountains.

Thanks for such an informative report. In a class of its own.

Thanks for the awesome report JR!
That's my plan when I retire...to do the same adventure...every year. :)
I hear you on the Convict lake episode...lots of "ja's" out there posing as fishermen. It's a shame.
Anyway...You've inspired me. Can't wait to get out there closing weekend!

Hi CL SmooV,

Don't know if you Tube when Bassin' but you'll find that's the way to go for fishing shorelines, points, inlets ... Bass-style with spinners and spoons ... aside from trolling.

Hope you give it a try !!

Hi beancounter,

Look forward to your report. Although I love the cold ..... I worry about the road conditions (ice) on some of the roads. Example: Last slope down to the power plant end of pleasent valley res. !! I can just see losing traction and ...... or road to North Lake !!!
