went back up to san luis again today this time with andrew aka marley to see if the fish were still active. on the water at 6:25 still dark went to the cove were i found them boiling tue but no go. fish all around on the finder so we decided to come back later to see if they get active. went over to dinosaur point again and droped rigs and instant bam fish on. made a couple passes in the same zone fish every time.

12 noon came and our fish count was 18 for the big lake, another awsome day at san luis. now time to go to the forbay took 25 min from time pulled boat out of big lake and backed in forbay. first time on the forbay so did not no were to start so we decided to head up to were the aqueduct come in to the forbay, but could not troll that area only 5-8 feet deep that whole area so went back to the rock wall and trolled along the rock wall and surrounding areas all the way to the islands
as soon as andrew dropped back bam fish on 10 sec later im on.

it was one every few min. cutbait you was right this fish never new what hit them. even got a triple

all fish in the big lake again 18-20 inch and forbay 18-21 inches, i did have one really big hit 3 secnds long pulled in the rig and the bucktail had no hair left on it and no swimbait on it. left wondering if that could have been my first DD. tottal count. big lake 18. and forbay 28 striper rig killed again. we kept 4 our limit 19-21 incheshttp://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd520/dk4885/IMG-20121012-00236.jpg

solid post guys..

That hummingbird pic is exciting, much better quality than the grainy lowrance!

Look at that locals specified trolling rig, High tech.... you just put a whoopin on him in a very non trolling bass boat.. Power of the rig!...

Imagine how many times Castaic and Pyramid stripers have seen those rigs pass by? Now you go up to San Luis and showing those stripers for the first time and its double and triple bendo's and even a triple hook up!..

Keep the posts comin, Oh and were plannin a trip.

So your thoughts on Oneil compared to San luis? You can troll the rig in 5-10 feet of water. Modifications need to be made to the rig!... Can you fish where the duct comes into the forebay? With a boat that is. I know you can where it comes out..

I see your boat is fixed?

We gotta start trolling a big bait at San Antonio and San Luis, even the mid and Castaic. Whether it be a Red October behind a Dodger, or just a Big Mac, or some other big bait.. But we gotta start getting a big profile bait out there

the hummingbird was just put on a couple weeks back before that i had a lowrance so much better,

i felt that at oneil had a little better quility fish and that the odds of catching the big girl is much higher there, the ave depth seems to b 22feet the deepest i found was 31 feet but most of oniel is 16 to 24 feet, the area around hwy 152 and were the watter is pumped in and out of big lake is only 5 to 13 feet deep.

were the aqueduct come in is up a channel about 400 yards thats were the gates are and it blocked of by bouys cant get close. now were the delta mendota comes in you can get right up next to the gate the bouys are only 30 yards from the gate, as we were leaving we had only five min to get off by 6:30 that gate was open water was flowing in and there was boils all in the moving water maybe not boils but blo ups all around. wanted to throw at them but had to get off

and yes its fixed picked it up thur,

Good job getting on the fish guys.

That's too funny, they are probably selling out of rattle traps up that way.
