Went by Tri Marine on Terminal Island today, saw a Seiner (Commercial net boat) pumping out the fish hold. They were unloading Mackerel. Tri Marine is a fish receiving/processing plant. They sell bait to the public. I don't think they sell they sell small amounts. Usually a 50 lb box is normal.

I received a text from a fellow FNNer that called and was told they only sell mackerel by the pallet.
So I spoke to they lady and she said they have 50 lb boxes but they prefer not to sell single boxes.
She told me 3 or more 50 lb boxes is ok.

Maybe 3 or more FNNers can post up that they are interested in a box.
Then when 3 or more guys are listed they can PM each other and get together for a purchase.

The commercial prices do change depending on supply/demand.
The local pier/rocks/harbor mackerel fishing has been tough lately.

Anyone seen mackerel around ?

I'm interested in one box, got a fish freezer in the garage.
$20 for 50 lbs is cheap. Sure beats $2 per pound at a fish market.

Now they are saying they don't sell small quantities.
2000 lb pallet anyone ?

Spoke about hooping in daylight before.
Most believe it is a night time sport. I'm calling BS
Having seen plenty in the daytime while diving in the 80's.
Yes it is true they are mostly nocturnal.
Yes you can hoop in daylight.
