We fished the upper Owens above Benton Crossing and some of the Mammoth Lakes 9/30-10/3, before meeting up with our friends (see Fish4Birdies report). Some good fishing, some not so good, but the weather was great and the scenery couldn't be beat. Caught some nice rainbows and small browns on the river using dry flies and nymphs. Not much action on the Lakes, although a couple of nice rainbows on lures at Lake George. We were only using lures and flies, flattened barbs for catch and release. Did much better at George when we used bait with our friends who were keeping some fish for eating :Big Grin:. Since we haven't mastered the art of taking a picture of a fish without handling it, neither of us got any photos of our fish, but here's some pictures of the Eastern Sierra in the fall:
Our dogs wouldn't cross this little tributary, and just went back to the car to wait for us
