Eastern Sierra’s late summer trip:
9/28 Met up with my brother & good friends to make the annual trip up the I-395 to get in on some trolling before the season shuts down. After a brief stop at Crowley and Tom’s Place we rolled into the loop in the afternoon and stayed at a Reverse Creek cabin - nice clean comfy quiet place to stay and relax-.
9/29 After a hardy breakfast we headed down to Silver Lake to get a couple of rentals ($45 Full Day /$35 Half Day) the outboards are Honda 8hp and they have around 12-16 boats. We started into the troll, and we got some action on kastmasters. Troll bite was consistent at Silver-we carefully CPR’d most of the rainbows caught on 2lb P-line flouroclear.
9/30 Out of the cabin by 0630 headed north to new waters. Stopped by Lundy Lake to wet a line-not a lot of action for us from shore water was pretty low for trolling, but we enjoyed the scenery. Kept heading north, stopped at Bridgeport Reservoir tried the dam area-but no joy. Saw the fly-guys working down the East Walker River. Headed back to the loop to catch the late afternoon troll bite-fish had better size, we got some nice ones and farmed a few too. 10/1 Fished 1st part of morning-same results consistent troll bite up to 11am. Overall it was a fun trip, everyone we met up here were cool and we look forward to next year’s trip. Will post some pics later after I download to photobucket.
