When winter comes and the water gets colder, how deep do the stripers normally go? Do they stay deep and feed deep?

Thanks!

Here in Socal they are pretty active in Dec.-March. They are still doing striper stuff and could be anywhere from 6' to 80'. I haven't done mountain stripers so can't speak to that.

Chovies deep or go for broke with a trout sized swimbait.

Big stripers like colder water, don't know what else to say.

One of my best striper memories was catching big fish in December and January back in Bee Rock Cove at San Antonio years ago. The shad were piled up in the back and the stripers would just come back in schools in shallow water and push the shad right up on the banks where the birds were waiting. At other times in December, the stripers would show up around schools of shad by the marina in the early morning. Fing the bait, the stripers will show at some point no matter what the season!
