Is the fishing good or bad during the Fall and Winter Months?
Since i was a kid I have only fished in the warm summer days.

I plan to change that this year and try my luck during the cold upcoming months?
I usually fish in the harbors e.g Marina Del Rey and other jetties.

Are the same fish like Halibut and Bass species still available?
Or do they all seek deeper water and migrate during these times?

Fall is great. Winter slows some. The best Bonito I've had was in Jan.
Fish eat everyday.

Cool. Appreciate the information Mr. DockRat.

It would be pretty cool if I could land a Bonito next year.
I imagine it would be a little similar to catching a Mackerel.

While it does slow down somewhat, the action is still good. The ocean doesnt chill like the freshwater regions do.

It may get 5-10 degrees cooler, but I've gone surf-fishing in the middle of winter, and the water was warmer than the sand and air.

Wow. I didn't know that. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Except they fight 5 times better and taste good (Tuna family).

Wow! Nice fish bro. I'm guessing they only get that big in deeper water?
Or do the big ones come in close to the coast/harbors?

Thanks for sharing your picture.

I take it from your post that you will be fishing from shore or jetties. Study the posts on the saltwater surf and harbor section of this forum from last fall and winter. YOu will get a ton of information from those posts on where the fish are and what is happening. Several surf fisherman post great success during the winter months. We wish you great success.
