(Edit: Title is typo, meant to say "Overuse, not oversue")

More people live in Los Angeles then the population in 70% of US states. They go where it is easy to access. The Angeles National Forest is the most visited forest in nation and with the latest round of deficit cutting budget cuts, operates at 1980 budget levels. Every forest in California is affected and the results are the same even if the population impacts are not as great. There is one.....that's right folks, one full time person to respond to picking up all this trash....handle the calls for gun toting river gold mining whackos and all the rest. But....we are chipping away at that pesky old national debt!

I agree with Viejo that it's a matter of too many people and not enough staff or budgeting.

I was going to say jokewise, when I saw the title I thought it meant that too many people were suing the East Fork for not providing good enough fishing. I think you can edit the title, though.

I think the lyrics to this song sum it up:

I'd love to have someone explain to me why people that love to visit nature then trash it! I so would like to honestly discuss this topic but the oversensitive crowd (I'd have to go into race related questions) would go nuts with the questions that I have so I will continue to shake my head when seeing all the dirty diapers floating around Silverwood during the summertime and just make sure I don't have any cuts on my legs when wet wading.

No need to mince words - they are predominantly Hispanic. But it's really more about culture.

If you've spent any time around older Mexican parents, you might have heard them mutter the word gentusa.

It's a damning word, and one I've heard directed at the type of folks who trash the East Fork.

Just goes to show, even within an ethnic group, you'll find some stark cultural differences.
